Vendor Electricity Information

Hi vendors! This page contains the information that you will need if your booth needs electricity at the event. These are strict guidelines set by the town of Maggie Valley and will need to be followed.

Town of Maggie Valley Festival Grounds Vendor Electricity Information Sheet

The Maggie Valley Festival Grounds has had vendors in past events that were not prepared to use our electrical services.  Please share the following information with ALL vendors needing electricity at your event.  It is also important to note this information when placing your vendors.

Main Vendor Area

On each of 7, 200 amp service Load Centers (#s 1-7) located at the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds, there are –

16 – 120 volt, 20 amp receptacles (All 20 amp circuits are Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) Protected)

6 – 120 volt, 30 amp standard receptacles (or RV) plug

2 – 240 volt, 50 amp standard range receptacles (or RV) plug

1 – Water

Load Center #8, 100 amp service located at the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds, there are-

4 – 120 volt, 20 amp receptacles (All 20 amp circuits are Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) Protected)

1 – 240 volt, 50 amp standard range receptacle (or RV) plug

1 – Water

 

Options – Vendors must come prepared as follows:

  1. The end of each electrical cord must be a 30 or 50 amp receptacle or –
  2. Buy an adapter to convert 120 volts, 20 amp cord to 120 volts, 30 amp standard receptacle (or RV) plug
  3. Maximum amperage for a 20 amp receptacle is 20 amps, maximum amperage for a 30 amp receptacle is 30 amps, maximum amperage for a 50 amp receptacle is 50 amps
  4. If vendor equipment trips a 20 amp GFCI receptacle, it will not work on our equipment

IMPORTANT: TOWN OF MAGGIE VALLEY STAFF OR APPROVED CONTRACTORS WILL NOT CIRCUMVENT THE GFCI UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Notes

There is other ‘power’ and water located around the venue.  Please consult the electrical map based on vendor needs for placement and to ensure all are prepared to use our electrical services.

Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) Explanation

The Electrical Equipment at the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds is required to have Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) Protection.  For safety reasons, the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds electricity is guided by Article 525 Carnivals, Circuses, Fairs and similar events.  Specifically 525.23 Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI).  The code reads as follows:

Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter Protection.

All 125-volt, single phase, 15- and 20-ampere receptacle outlets that are in use by personnel or readily accessible to the general public shall have listed GFCI protection. Manufactured cord sets incorporating listed ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection for personnel shall be permitted. Egress lighting shall not be connected to the load side of a ground-fault circuit-interrupter device.

All 15 amp and 20 amp, 125 volt non-locking type receptacles used for disassembly and reassembly or readily accessible to the public.
